Paolo Deganello, a member of the group Archizoom, developed completely new propositions in chair design during two years at Cassina’s research centre in the early seventies. The result was an unusual form unlike any chair made before or after it.

The chair’s name adopts a coding method seen in Le Corbusier’s Cassina furniture. AEO is to be read as Ae0, standing for ‘Archizoom’ and the design number, 0. It was initially sold as a kit for at-home assembly to save on storage and transport.

This example was purchased in 1980 in Italy and has all original parts in excellent condition.
