Wolfgang Laubersheimer, ‘Regal Verspannter’ Bookcase, Pentagon, Germany, 1984.

Wolfgang Laubersheimer was born in Bad Kreuznach. After graduating from high school he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial employee and then studied metal sculpture in Cologne. Alberto Rosselli (1921-1976) was a pivotal figure in 20th-century Italian design. After graduating in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1947, Rosselli remained in Milan, where he co-founded the influential Studio Ponti Fornaroli Rosselli (P.F.R) with Gio Ponti and Antonio Fornaroli. He was also a key contributor to the Pirelli Tower project and founded the design journal 'Stile Industria' in 1954, which played a significant role in advancing the relationship between design and industry.

The ‘Confidential’ sofa, designed by the Roselli is a pioneering example of modular seating and recognised as one of the first modular sofas designed for the home engineered to be entirely produced by polyurethane injected foam.

The sofa has been recently reupholstered in the original Hermes orange Italian leather.

The Caravela Collection by Diogo Corte-Real draws inspiration from Portugal’s maritime heritage, reimagining the spirit of discovery for a contemporary audience. Named after the Portuguese caravels that once charted unknown seas, this collection embodies the tension between movement and stability.

Olivier Mourgue, ‘Bouloum’ Lounge Chair, Airborne, France, 1971.

This era of French design was marked by a push for both innovation and practical elegance, with designers like Mourgue leading the way. The focus was on marrying form and function while experimenting with new materials and ideas, which allowed French designers to create pieces that were both artistic and utilitarian, reflecting the dynamic spirit of the period.

This early example produced by Airborne International in France, is a testament to Morgue’s playful aesthetic. Crafted for the whimsical at heart, the chair's anthropomorphic form invites interaction and creativity, embodying Mourgue's belief that people invent while playing.

Originally produced by Airborne, the Bouloum has continued to charm collectors, remaining in production through Arconas since 1972, when they acquired Airborne.

This chair playfully combines an ergonomic seat and back with an organic, branch-like frame. Ceroli produced this in raw Russian pinewood and features the artist signature and manufacturers mark.

This chair has been authenticated by the Archives and Research team at the Poltronova headquarters, Firenze, Italy.
